for families who feel most themselves outside

NC FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

rooted in nature

CHILD-CENTERED

They don’t have to sit still.
They don’t have to perform.

They can run, climb, explore, or stay close to you—whatever feels natural in the moment.

We follow their rhythm, not a shot list.

Because the best images don’t come from perfect behavior,
they come from real connection, unfolding in its own time.

I photograph families in the Blue Ridge Mountains for people who care more about connection than perfection.

A CHILD-CENTERED APPROACH TO FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

Life isn’t all highlight reels.

Most of us have lived long enough to know that joy and hardship often sit side by side. There are seasons that stretch us, shape us, and quietly change who we are.

I believe your family photos matter.
Not as a performance.
Not as a checklist.

But as a visual keepsake of who you all were
during this sweet season in your life.

A moment to pause, breathe deeply,
and take in how far you’ve come together.

I don’t take joy for granted. I look for it on purpose.
I protect it, and I help create space for it,
so your family photos feel
honest, expansive, and deeply real.

YOUR FAMILY PHOTOS MATTER

"Jenny was amazing! She is so patient and kind and made us all feel incredibly comfortable!

She recommended our photo location and it was breathtaking in every direction and in every minute as the sun was setting!

It was such a great and memorable time! The photos came out better than I could have imagined.

She truly captures the beauty of nature and family in every photo. Highly recommend!”

This experience is for you if:

You want your children to feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves.

You care more about connection than perfectly posed photos.

You love being outside—letting your kids explore, get messy, and just be kids.

You’ve created a home and life that feel warm, lived-in, and meaningful.

You want images that reflect how this season actually feels.

THIS MIGHT BE EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR

A CALM, KIND & THOUGHTFUL APPROACH

I don’t rush your children or ask them to perform.

I pay attention. I follow their pace.
I create space for connection to happen naturally.

This approach works beautifully for:

  • shy kids
  • energetic kids
  • sensitive or slow-to-warm children
  • kids with special needs
  • any child!

Because when kids feel safe, everything else falls into place.

All you need to do is show up
and enjoy the day with
your family.

Everything else can fall away.

the photos were phenomenal!

WHAT MAKES GOLDEN HOUR SPECIAL

You know that stretch of time when the sun dips low and the landscape starts to glow? When the mountains feel bigger and everything else fades out for a minute. It's when the light wraps around you instead of shining down.

You suddenly notice how good it feels
to be right where you are.

That’s golden hour.
It doesn’t last long, which is
why it matters.
This special time in your life lives
in that same space.

A brief, beautiful pause in life that’s worth
slowing down for, soaking in, and holding onto through photographs that bring you back every time.

A golden season in life that deserves
to be experienced slowly and
documented in a way that feels true.

I photograph families across North Carolina, with a focus on the places that invite you to slow down and be together—

the Blue Ridge Mountains,
the High Country,
quiet trails, open fields, and meaningful spaces.

We’ll choose a location that feels like you.

WHERE YOUR STORY UNFOLDS

I love the mountains and wild places here in North Carolina. It's where I feel most at home.

You can look at photos of the Blue Ridge Mountains and hear people talk about them all day, but until you’re standing there, wind in your hair, light shifting around you, it’s hard to grasp how alive they make you feel.

And I have a feeling you’re drawn to moments like that too, the ones that feel real, grounding, and quietly powerful.

I’m Jenny, your photographer

I can’t wait to show you & your family these beautiful landscapes at their very best.

Hi, I'm Jenny

I’m a mom of four and a photographer drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments most people overlook.

I care deeply about:

children feeling safe and respected

families being able to just be

and preserving what’s real before it changes

This is my family

THESE PHOTOS ARE PART OF YOUR LEGACY

These images become part of your family.

The ones on your walls.
The ones your children grow up seeing.
The ones that bring you back to this exact season—years from now.

Because this version of your family is already changing.

Can I tell you something I sense about you?

You’re not just moving through this season of life without noticing it.

You feel how fast it’s going.
You see the small things—the way they reach for your hand, the way they laugh, the way everything is already changing.

You know this time matters.

Some days that means slowing down, staying close, letting things be simple.

And sometimes it means getting outside, letting them run, getting a little messy, and remembering what it feels like to just be together.

If you’re drawn to the in-between moments…
the ones that aren’t perfect, but are real and full of life…

You don’t have to wait for everything to be just right.

This is already worth remembering.

THE WAY YOUR FAMILY REMEMBERS

So much of our lives lives on screens now, but the moments that matter most deserve something more permanent.

Printed photographs become part of your home, part of your children’s story, something they can return to again and again.

Not just images—but proof of this season, this connection, this life you’re building together.

If you’d like, I can guide you in creating albums and artwork that feel just as natural and meaningful as the images themselves.

Whether it’s just your immediate family, a big extended family get-together, or a slower day at home, your session is shaped around what your life actually looks like right now.

Some families want a quiet walk at sunset, kids running barefoot and exploring.

Others want to stay close—reading on the couch, making pancakes, or just being together in the spaces that matter most.

Some want a little adventure, muddy shoes and all.
Others want something simple and slow.

There’s no one way this has to look—just a chance to capture your family as it is, in a way that feels natural and true to you.

There’s room for all of it.

This isn’t about showing up perfectly—it’s about showing up as you are.
You get to be present with your people, while I take care of guiding things gently so it all feels natural and easy.

Most families invest between $1200–$1500+ for their images and artwork.

This was one of my favorite photography experiences
I have ever had!
